FAQ

Before your appointment

What to expect, how to prepare, and when to book for ball season.

Do I need a consultation before color?

For a big change or your first color with us, yes. It takes 15 minutes, costs nothing, and can happen the same day as your appointment.

Will you do a patch test?

If you are new to us or to a color line, we do one at least 48 hours ahead. It takes five minutes.

How should I arrive for a curly cut?

Come with your hair clean, dry, and worn the way you usually wear it. Skip the ponytail and clips so Mae can see how your curls fall.

How long does a silk press last?

Usually one to two weeks, depending on humidity and how you wrap it at night. In a Mobile summer, plan on the shorter end. The appointment takes about two hours.

Do you cut kids' hair?

Yes, ages 12 and under for $25. Weekday afternoons are the quietest time to bring them.

Do you come to the wedding?

Rosa travels on the wedding day for parties of three or more, anywhere in Mobile and Baldwin counties. The trial happens here at the studio, and we quote travel with it.

Where do I park?

There is a small lot behind the studio, and street parking on the side streets is free.

What if I need to cancel?

Give us 24 hours and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours we charge half the service, and a no-show is charged in full.

When should I book for Mardi Gras?

Book by early December for a January or February ball night. Bring a photo of your gown's neckline and any headpiece to the trial so the style suits both.
